At the 2019 MBUDCA National Convention, the General Assembly unanimously agreed to make the construction of the Mbu World Trade Center at “Tscheushop” as the Association’s flagship project for 2019-2020.

The purpose of the MBU World Trade Center (MWTC) is to bring meaningful development at the former Tscheushop or commonly called Sam-Forti (Old Cooperative Site). This iconic site has a rich history that all sons and daughters of MBU can connect with and by giving it a new facelift, it will help galvanize and bring a renewed impetus of unity amongst the MBU people.
This multi-million (CFA) project is intended to build a Multipurpose Business Community Center that will house:
- A modern library that will go a long way to foster the acquisition of lifelong literacy skills for the entire Mbu community particularly the low-income families who have no access to a public library.
- A modern information technology center that will harness the potential of information and communication technologies that will bring development and social change in Mbu.
- A state of the art convention hall and meeting facility that will serve as a venue for meetings, conferences, expositions, cultural and celebratory gatherings.
- A shopping center that will house grocery/retail stores, restaurant(s), bar, lodging and more.
Our goal is to raise estimably $200,000.00 (Two Hundred Thousand US Dollars) to carry out this project. The MBUDCA USA President kicked off the fundraising for this project at the 2019 Cultural Night and the sum of $15,300.00 (Fifteen Thousand Three Hundred US Dollars) was raised thanks to the support received from kids, grandparents, great grandparents, and Mbudca members.
As of December 2021, the Association has raised over $90,000.00 (Ninety Thousand US Dollars) from MBUDCA members and other goodwill donors to help advance this project.
